Ascending the Mountain 2025 – Save the Dates

Nov 2, 2024 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

It all started in 1984, Libbie and I were seat mates on a yoga adventure. We were flying off to study at the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India.

Our paths crossed many times over the years. We became older, hopefully wiser, and definitely seasoned yoga teachers.

Ironically, the COVID period proved felicitous for the both of us, as we went on-line with our yoga teaching. Although we live 400+ km apart, we were able to drop into each other’s classes once a week. Which we still do.

Chatting after class one day, I suggested to Libbie that it could be a happy-making experience to teach a workshop together. And it has proved to be so. We have now presented the workshops two times, once in Byron area and once on the NSW mid north coast.

We’ve called the workshop ‘Ascending the Mountain: the View from the Top’. It would be a bit audacious to consider ourselves at the top of the mountain, looking down on those younger and less experienced. No, no, we don’t think the mountain metaphor means that. It’s more like having climbed a high ladder, we can see out to faraway distances, and, at the same time, look down and back on all the experiences–good and bad– that have gotten us onto this rung.

Our workshop is practical, a sharing of the tools and practices that have helped us at different stages of our lives. But it is also rich in the stories from these various seasons, where yoga has been a constant companion.

It will be great to hear of your yoga journey wherever you are on it.  And I hope you will come along and join Libbie and me in Sydney Oct. 18-19, 2025.
