I can hardly believe it, but we’ve had the privilege of presenting the ‘January Intensive’ on Mitchells Island for 13 years.
What is it? It’s a five-day, early morning course that gives you the opportunity to kick off the New Year with yoga, meditation, relaxation practices, and more.
Ever-popular, each year the course attendance has grown until we finally had to move out of the Yoga Shed to the commodious and lovely Mitchells Island Hall. It’s a beautiful experience just to visit the Island, seeing the sunrise over the Manning River each day of the course.
One of the things that I love most about this course is the coalescing of the group. We form a community, albeit temporary, where we meet new people, but also come across old yoga friends. We do our practices on our own mats, but sense and feel the support and good intentions of the group. By the end of the course, many don’t want it to end. Yet, because of the daily routine, participants will have given themselves ‘a leg up’ for a wholesome start to the New Year. And the possibility of receiving the benefits of consistent practice.
