- enough

Mardi in Baddhakonasana

“Enough is enough.” That is contentment. – Ram Dass

Doing forward stretches in your yoga practice is a great way to test your ability to balance effort and repose. If you are pushy, your mind will be agitated. If you are slack, you will be left feeling dull. Find the way and the gift is equipoise.
Following on the theme of Forward Bends from yesterday (and also responding to a request for yoga sequences), I offer you this sequence in today’s post:
Theme: Forward Bends
First of all, warm-up with some standing poses to open your hips and stretch your hamstrings, for instance:
Adho Mukha Svanasana, Uttanasana, Trikonasana, Parsvottanasana, Prasarita Padottanasana, Padangusthasana, Padahastasana, Adho Mukha Svanasana
If you want a more vigorous workout, do the standing poses interspersed with Salutes to the Sun.
Forward Stretches:
Dandasana, Janu Sirsasana JSImage, Trianga Mukhaikapada TriangImage, Paschimottanasana PaschImage, Ardha Baddha Padma Paschimottanasana ABPPImage, Marichyasana 1 Mari1Image, Upavistha Konasana 1 & 2, Baddha Konasana
Twists:
Bharadavajasana 1 & 2, Marichyasana 3, Ardha Matsyendrasana, Paschimottanasana
Finishing poses:
Urdhva Prasarita Padasana, Supta Padangusthasana, Jatara Parvartanasana
Savasana and Pranayama
Enjoy!

  1. Hi Eve,
I Like this post and the thoughts around how the pose relates to how one’s mind is.
Also great to have the illustrations as I dont know the names of the poses.
    Best wishes,
    Lin

  2. Another good one, Eve. Including Mardi in BK. I like to see interesting poses – even if they are sometimes very difficult ones. Visual component helps.
