The Element of Earth

Do you feel like you’re too much in your head sometimes, perhaps even most of the time. I have a great remedy. Make compost.
Take several wheelbarrow loads of grass clippings, throw in a couple of buckets of kitchen scraps, and mix liberally with shovelfuls of horse poo. Deposit the mixture in the compost bed, cover with a tarp and let “cook” for some time. The worms will tell you when the recipe is done.
If your temperment is too airy or watery, this exercise done often enough is guaranteed to be as grounding as standing poses, and much more aromatic.
Here on our property at Mitchells island, there are many opportunities to practice earthy spirituality if you ever feel the need to get out of your head….
