Celebrating Family

Okay, I did say the other day that I’m a tribal person. You can see that for yourself when you look at my living situation (described on the Shedders page): three couples under one roof who are not related by blood, only by friendship.
We have an amazing house design that lets us all share communal space – kitchen, dining, lounge and decks. As well, we have three separate and private living spaces – bedroom, ensuite, office, and deck.
This long Easter weekend our congeniality and compatibility will be tested to the max as there will be sixteen individuals accommodated on our property. (Heather and I have been scheming about how we might gracefully get away from the throngs. Will we be missed if we just slip out for dinner or a movie? Will we seen to be unsociable if we close the doors to our private areas?)
We set up some rules about the use of the Yoga Shed, a building which also comprises a bathroom and two guest bedrooms, where up to five people may be sleeping. Yogis will make use of the space as is their custom in the early morning, and interruptions by young or old will be disallowed.
Fortunately there will be a caravan and a tent available for the overflow of human beings.
If I sound curmudgeonly, it’s only a guise. I’m really happy to have this reunion of Judy’s family, as her sister, Susan, has been unwell. Susan’s kids and grandkids will have a chance to connect, as we all will.
