Biodynamic Garlic

I’m a tribal person. I like hanging out with people, and I love doing activities with them.
Stella, our neighbour who grows biodynamic garlic, dislocated and broke her wrist last week, just before the crucial planting time. She and her husband put out a call for help, and Heather and I signed on for the prepatory stage of separating the cloves from the bulbs.
The three hours of peeling that we did this afternoon went so fast. We just turned into machines, and got more efficient and quicker as we went along. I think Stella said there are now 1,000 cloves ready for planting, hopefully on Friday.
Before leaving their beautiful home, I gave Stella a chest opener pose to help her through the 7 or so weeks she’s got to be in a cast and sling. She’s propped up against a low divan with some cushions for her head and neck.

Ian & Stella’s land overlooking Scotts Creek and the Manning River is, as my friend Denise says, “to live for.”
